Almost-birthday

Lars' parents are coming over tomorrow. That's always the cause for some major cleaning. I know it's silly, but I like my house looking its best when they're visiting. I guess it's some sort of feeling of 'see, I'm good enough for your son - I can keep our flat looking good'.

Silly, as I've never been given reason to think they don't think I'm good enough for their son, but I still wouldn't want them to see how messy our flat can get at times.

Tonight and tomorrow I have to:

• Do dishes and generally clean up the kitchen.
• Do a quick extra swish-swipe in bathroom.
• Tidy up living room.
• Take down newspapers for recycling.
• Get Lars to vacuum. (He's promised to do so while I'm at work)
• Bake three cakes (one for tomorrow and two for the birthday party Saturday). (two baked. I want to serve the last one fresh out of the oven tonight.)
• Tidy up bedroom so the bed is made and the cupboards are able to close.
